These manipulations are performed on an outpatient basis, sometimes with the use of local anesthesia.

Specialists of the Hearing Centre use an instrumental method to remove ear wax. For greater accuracy, this procedure is performed under the control of a microscope or endoscope. A foreign body is removed from the ear or larynx by instrumental methods, lavage, and less frequently by surgery.

Minimally invasive interventions are performed at the Hearing Centre: tympanic membrane grommet insertion, paracentesis, the opening of abscesses, removal, and biopsy of benign tumors of the head and neck. In case of maxillary sinusitis, if necessary, the doctor may perform a puncture or drainage of the maxillary sinus.

Peak nasal inspiratory flowmetry (PNIF) allows to objectively assess the condition of nasal breathing and monitor the effectiveness of treatment. The UPSIT smell identity test allows testing the patient’s olfactory function.
